I-75 in Manatee County is back open this morning, after a deadly crash shut it down for hours.
It happened on the bridge over the Manatee River when a semi was unable to come to a stop in clogged traffic, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The chain reaction crash involved six vehicles, including one that burst into flames.
The driver of that car was killed. That deceased person's name was not released as of this morning.
Three other people were hurt. Two are in serious condition, the third only has minor injuries.
Video from SkyFOX showed numerous cars stopped in a cluster right behind the scene, and traffic backed up for miles behind it.
The interstate was closed for about four hours. The bridge reopened around 10 p.m. Inspectors also checked out the stability of the bridge, and it appears to be okay.
