The Hillsborough County Public Defender's Office will not represent accused killer Granville Ritchie.
Monday, the public defender asked the judge to be taken off the case, but no reason was given in court.
The Public Defender's Office confirmed to FOX 13 that the reason is due to a conflict of interest, but did not elaborate.
Ritchie, accused of sexually assaulting and murdering 9-year-old Felecia Williams, will now have the option of hiring a private attorney, or waiting for the Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel to appoint a new lawyer. http://flrc2.org/History.html
We should learn more details Tuesday morning when Ritchie is due back in court for a hearing on the matter.
