OCALA (FOX 13) -

Police in Ocala are looking for the angry man who kidnapped and beat a church volunteer until she lost consciousness last night.

Investigators say the 69-year-old woman was wrapping up after the church's meal for the homeless when the suspect appeared in the backseat of her car, put a knife to her neck, and told her to drive.

Eventually, the suspect told her to pull over, which is when he put a rope around her neck and dragged her from the SUV. Police say he began beating her while exclaiming, "You rich bitches think we need your help?" He then ordered her back in the car, and when she tried to bite him, he tossed her dentures out the window.

When they arrived at a Kmart lot on State Road 40, the man beat the woman until she passed out. When she woke up, he assailant was gone.

The woman suffered bruising to the face, arms, and abdomen and was hospitalized. Her condition as of this morning was not immediately available.

Police are still looking for the suspect. He's described as a white male, about 5-foot-9 and wearing a dark shirt, gloves, and a mask. Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Ocala Police Department at 352-369-7000.
