Blue Line train derails at Forest Park station

Posted: Updated:
FOREST PARK (Sun-Times Media Wire) - The CTA Blue Line service is back to normal following a derailment Friday morning at the Forest Park station.

A westbound train arriving at the station experienced a “minor derailment” about 11:10 a.m., according to CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski.

It appears the train’s wheels slipped off the tracks, but no injuries were reported in the incident, Hosinski said.

Passengers were asked to walk through the train to the front car and exit onto the platform, according to Hosinski.

Trains were temporarily forced onto a single track between the Forest Park and Harlem stations, but all train service was back to normal as of about 5:45 p.m., the CTA said.
