PINELLAS PARK (FOX 13) -

Firefighters rescued a dog from inside a blazing home Tuesday morning.

It happened at a residence on the 5900 block of 107 Terrace North around 8 a.m.

Six people were inside at the time, and were able to make it out safely, but firefighters still had a rescue ahead of them as the family dog, Casper, remained in the house.

One of the crew members ran inside, and before long, found Casper and brought him out to his family.

A Pinellas Fire officials said everyone, including the dog, appeared to be in good health.

The house, however, had fire and smoke damage throughout. The Pinellas Park Firefighters Benevolent Association donated $300 to assist the family with basic needs. The Red Cross was also there to provide assistance.
