Police in St. Pete say they've arrested three teenagers who may have robbed as many as 18 homes, and now detectives are trying to reunite victims with the stolen items.
According to police, two of the suspects were caught last Wednesday breaking into a home on Tropical Shores Drive S. Their arrests led to the identification of a third suspect.
When police caught up with that third teen, they say he was in possession of a wide range of stolen items -- DVD players, gaming systems, televisions, and speakers.
Investigators initially said they believe the trio is responsible for 13 robberies dating back to June 14 in an area south of 17th Avenue SE to Bayside Drive SE, and from east of 4th Street S to Tampa Bay. FOX 13's Steve Nichols reports the number may actually be 18.
Detectives are in the process of identifying the owners of the property trying to return it.
The teens -- ages 15, 16, and 17 -- face a variety of charges. FOX 13 is not naming them because of their ages.
