"Whether you're a tier 1 nerd or a tier 10 nerd this place is amazing," said Christian Willis.
Tampa's MetroCon is a dazzling blend of Japanese anime and video game culture, the largest in Florida.
And in here, everyone is equal.
"When you go out of here you, don't fit. Here, when you come here, it's a giant family," said Barbara Torres.
The event will attract some 10,000 people through the weekend. And keep your head on a swivel, because there's always something to see.
"We get costumers to come out, we have entertainment all day long, we have a stunt show we do," said director of operations Alex Craddock.
And even if this isn't your thing, organizers say it's still worth a look.
"We make an effort when we write the shows to gear it to my parents," Craddock said.
"Every year I become a bigger nerd because of it it's just such a fun enthusiastic time," Willis said.
