Tampa police officers are looking for a man who shot two people in separate but related incidents Thursday night.
The first shooting happened at a restaurant at 11618 N. 22nd Street.
Police say a 57-year-old employee at the Jamaican Food Restaurant was shot twice in the upper torso during an attempted robbery. There were conflicting reports about his condition.
After that, police say the suspect shot an 18-year-old man near 9901 N. Nebraska Avenue. That victim was also shot twice in the upper torso, a police spokesman said. He fled to 10th and Linebaugh where he collapsed; his condition was also not immediately available.
Lt. Ronald McMullen with TPD said evidence leads detectives to believe the shooter is the same person in both cases.
Detectives have not yet issued a description of the suspect, but McMullen said police are working with “active leads” and are getting cooperation from the community.
Still, anyone with information is asked to contact the Tampa Police Department.
