A green sea turtle named "Bubba Gump" is back in the water.
The rehabilitated, 56-pound turtle was released Tuesday morning off Honeymoon Island.
The turtle was treated at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium after being found floating face down in Tarpon Springs on March 2. Aquarium officials say a buoyancy disorder limited his ability to dive and remain submerged, affecting his ability to forage for food.
After four months of intense medical care and treatment at CMA, Bubba Gump was ready to be released back into the Gulf of Mexico.
This was the aquarium's seventh green sea turtle release this year. A Loggerhead turtle was also released in January.
