A quirky and historic restaurant and inn that once catered to the rich and famous is shutting down.
The Chalet Suzanne has been famous in Lake Wales for 83 years now. The owner, Eric Hinshaw, is looking to sell the entire 100-acre property.
It includes a soup cannery, 26-room inn, vineyard, shooting range, and even an airport.
The Chalet will accept reservations for lunch, dinner, or overnight accommodations through Aug. 4.
After that, there will be a silent auction. It's a difficult time for Henshaw, whose family has been around the establishment since 1931.
Once a hidden gem for movie stars and wealthy aviators, the crowds have thinned, and he said it's time to let it go.
