Deputies in Hillsborough County are hoping you can help them find a custom-built motorcycle that was stolen from a disabled war veteran.
It was just before 11 p.m. last Wednesday, the sheriff's office says, when someone swiped the 2005 Honda CBR600 motorcycle while it was parked in the River View apartments off North 56th Street.
Paul Badillo was injured while serving in a Iraq nearly four years ago. He suffered a head and eye injury and had surgery.
He suffers from PTSD and told FOX 13 that working on his motorcycle helped him cope with being back from war.
"The motorcycle was just so much easier to work on, simpler, so it's therapeutic just to find something to do, just to have it as an accomplishment," Badillo said.
The orange and red motorcycle has many custom features and has large "Repsol" stickers on the sides. Its license plate is Florida 2299NX.
Badillo is a single father. He said he returned from a ride around 9 p.m. Wednesday. When he looked outside around 11, it was gone.
His message to the culprit: You never know who you're stealing from and what that item means to a person.
