TAMPA (FOX 13) -

Hundreds of the best dancers in the world are in Tampa right now.

The Millennium Dance Sport competition kicked off yesterday at the Tampa Marriott Waterside. More than 1,600 dancers will be performing over the next several days.

One of the judges is Mary Murphy from the hit show 'So You Think You Can Dance.'

Right now it's about the competition. Friday and Saturday night, you can see the top professionals in action.

Organizers say there will be sultry Latin dancing, beautiful ballroom, and real passion.

"You see it live sometimes on television but actually to see it live and see the emotions and see the sweat come wipe off their brow," Michael Chapman offered. "I mean, it's amazing to see it so close up and see the costumes, you know it's just fantastic. And dancers love audience; you know we drive off the applause."

The dancers are on the floor from 9 in the morning until midnight.

Tickets range from $25 all the way to $150.
