Gray Garrison couldn't be happier. At 22, he has Asperger's and just got his first job.
"I like it," Garrison said.
Garrison works for IHome Services. They fix air conditioners.
"I sort out parts that they bring in the morning," Garrison continued.
A non-profit group for the disabled called Placement Works found Garrison the job. It was started 14 years ago.
"It gives them the opportunity to be a part of society to get out and have a purpose," Placement Works' Steve Brown explained.
They've found jobs for thousands with disabilities in the Tampa Bay area.
"People with disabilities are extremely loyal, extremely competent and capable. And employers increase their bottom line by hiring people with disabilities," Placement Works Founder Christy Brown said.
It's been a pleasant surprise for IHome owner David Olivieri.
"He does an excellent job, actually. He does an excellent job," Olivieri offered.
"They tend to value their job a little more," Brown added. "They look forward to coming to work so then tend to stay on task."
Placement Works has been around the Bay Area for 14 years.
