Tuesday brought a trip to court for sex offender Steven Myers, along with more surgery for the Valrico teenager who disappeared with him last week.

Police caught up with the pair after a high-speed chase through Louisiana early Thursday morning.

Myers, 41, made it to court today, where the judge told him he faces charges in both states.

In Louisiana, he's accused of attempted second-degree murder for allegedly stabbing Ashley. Police say she suffered multiple stab wounds during Thursday morning's chase.

Ashley's mother is by her side at the hospital. Michelle Lyon says Ashley was stabbed 10 times, in the chest and back.

She keeps everyone updated on the same Facebook page the family created when Ashley was missing.

On Sunday-- nurses took Ashley off her ventilator, and removed her feeding tube. Today, Michelle said Ashley had surgery for a blood clot in her leg.

Throughout the ordeal, Ashley's parents have thanked the Bay Area community for spreading the word about her disappearance, and now, for their prayers for a speedy recovery.

They say the positivity they've received through social media is helping the whole family heal.
