Pedestrian killed in deputy-involved crash

AUBURNDALE (FOX 13) -

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a fatal crash that involved a marked Polk County deputy patrol car and a pedestrian.

According to the sheriff's office, it happened around 6 a.m. Friday at the intersection of 42nd Street and Havendale Boulevard in Auburndale.

The pedestrian did not survive the crash, however investigators say the deputy was not injured.

The eastbound lanes of Havendale Boulevard are closed as PCSO traffic deputies continue their investigation.

Westbound lanes are open, but officials say drivers can expect delays.
