Several emergency response crews were called Wednesday morning after a stolen SUV was found submerged in the Gulf near Madeira Beach.
Tire marks at the scene lead to the discovery.
So far, Pinellas County Sheriff's officials have said a dive crew found a yellow Isuzu VehiCROSS in the water near the beach access across from John's Pass, at 129th Avenue and Gulf Boulevard.
They said the windows and sunroof were open, and no one was inside.
The investigation continues into how the SUV ended up in the water, however latest developments say a cement paver was found on the accelerator.
Julia and Keith Robillard, the owners of the SUV, say they woke Wednesday morning to find their Isuzu had been stolen- marking the second time this has happened in a matter of months.
According to officials, the keys were in the car last time it was taken, but were missing from inside when it was later found.
Crews have since removed the SUV from the water, and investigators are searching for possible suspects in the case.Stick with FOX 13 for updates on this developing story.
