The former principal of Manatee High School was acquitted Tuesday of charges on failing to report abusive conduct by a former football coach.
The state argued Robert Gagnon and two other school administrators turned the other way when teachers raised concerns about former football assistant Rod Frazier's relationships with female students.
Gagnon's defense attorney filed a motion for the judge to acquit Gagnon, saying none of the incidents reported to Gagnon gave him reasonable suspicion to report it as abuse to the state.
The judge agreed.
The two former assistant principals also being tried in the case were not granted acquittals. Their cases are still pending and will continue Wednesday.
