Deputies have now issued an arrest warrant for a convicted sexual offender who's believed to be traveling with a missing teenager.
Ashley Lyon, 16, has been missing since Wednesday. Her parents said she left out of her bedroom window around 4 p.m. that day. At the time, her mother was serving jury duty, and her father was at work.
She had been grounded for weeks leading up to her disappearance for interacting with Steven Myers, a 41-year-old sex offender who lives nearby.
Since her disappearance, Ashley's family has blanketed their Valrico neighborhood with fliers and been very active on social media, trying to raise awareness of their missing daughter.
Tuesday, the sheriff's office cited unspecified "newly discovered evidence" as a the cause for the arrest warrant, which lists charges of interference with child custody, attempted unlawful sexual activity with a minor, and traveling to meet a minor.
Investigators are investigating the possibility that the pair traveled to Georgia, where Myers used to live. Deputies say they'll extradite him from wherever he is ultimately found.
Myers drives a 1989 Ford Ranger truck with a unique paint job with flames painted on the hood and sides. The truck's Florida tag is CSJ-M45.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Ashley Lyon and/or Steven Myers is asked to contact the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office at 247-8200 or call 911.
