Parents hand out fliers looking for missing teen

Posted: Updated:

Michelle and Roger Lyon are doing whatever they can to find their daughter who they believe is on the run with a registered sex offender.

Monday, they were handing out fliers at the Winn Dixie store on Fish Hawk Blvd. Relatives brought the fliers to other stores in the same shopping center. They also took some to their daughter Ashley's high school, Newsome.

However, they say they are getting a phenomenal response from another kind of communication: social media. They say Ashley's story is going viral.

"People have been sharing it, retweeting it, " said her dad, Roger. "We have had a couple of thousand hits at this point."

Later in the day, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Colonel Donna Lusczynski said her agency has no evidence that Ashley and Myers are together, but it is a possibility.

Lusczynski says detectives are checking out the possibility that Myers and the teen are in Georgia. That’s where Myers used to live, and where he was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior with a child under 17 fourteen years ago.
