PORT RICHEY (FOX 13) -
The Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed at least one person was killed in a bad crash early Friday morning.
The crash happened at Ridge Road and Regency Park Boulevard.
According to reports, the driver of the 2005 Dodge Neon did not survive. He's been described only as a 23-year-old man until officials can notify his family of the accident.
The Dodge collided with a 2001 Ford Mustang, driven by 58-year-old Sharon Lentrincchia, where Ridge Road and Regency Park Boulevard intersect.
They say the Neon was heading east on Regency Park as Lentrincchia's Mustang was going south on Ridge. Neither car stopped before entering the intersection, but it is unclear if one of them head a red light.
The impact caused the Neon to flip, resulting in the driver's death, and serious injuries for his passenger, 22-year-old Hector Medina.
Lentrincchia was also seriously injured. She and Medina were taken to the hospital.
Crews at the scene shut down eastbound and northbound lanes to investigate the crash.
