Three people are under arrest in Pasco County after a robbery and shooting early Tuesday morning, and the sheriff says those arrests are good news for the community.
Steven Reverdes, Michael Reverdes and Joseph Rich are all in custody. Sheriff Chris Nocco says a fourth arrest is imminent.
Detectives say the three, along with one other suspect, attempted to rob a home along the 10000 block of Gawain Road around 4 a.m.
A man inside the home fired shots at the group and hit Steven Reverdes. He crawled under a car while the other three took off.
At that point, deputies arrived, arrested Reverdes and chased the other three.
They caught Michael Reverdes and Joseph Rich. The 4th suspect got away, but Nocco said they have good leads and expect to arrest him soon.
Nocco said the group targeted the home because there were drugs and a large amount of cash inside, and it was not a random crime.
But Nocco said the three suspects arrested have long arrest records, and the streets would be safer with them in jail.
“By taking out these brothers and arresting Joseph Rich, and with the soon-to-be arrest of the other suspect in this case, there’s a lot of crime that will be reduced in this area,” Sheriff Nocco said. “We’re going to safer once they are all back in jail.”
