DETROIT (WJBK) - The husband of Alicia Fox, the mother who was found dead in an abandoned home earlier this week, was questioned by authorities in Atlanta, Ga. Tuesday evening.

Authorities in Atlanta and Detroit police tell FOX 2 Erin Justice came forward voluntarily, cooperated with the FBI questioning and has since been released.

Meanwhile, Fox's two children, 6-year-old Kaylah Hunter and 8-month-old Kristian Justice, are still missing.

FOX 2's Taryn Asher reports some information that Justice was said to have given police about the children sparked a massive search in the area where Fox was found. She was found murdered in an abandoned home on Penrod Street on Detroit's west side.

Earlier Tuesday evening, while FOX 2's Taryn Asher was talking with Fox's family, they got an anonymous call from people who say they know Justice.

The caller claimed Justice was in Atlanta, Ga. and they are very worried they don't see the kids, especially now that the children's mother was found murdered.

"Just praying and I'm staying optimistic, and I'm hoping that they're okay," says Fox's cousin Brenda Fields.

The family is hoping for the best but, sadly, suspecting the worst.

They were passing out flyers of the missing young children and, along with police, federal agents and a Michigan State Police K-9 Unit, they searched abandoned houses on the same street where Fox's body was found.

Field says things do not add up.

The last time the family spoke to Fox was May 25. They say they then discovered Fox's husband rented a U-Haul from a Detroit location from May 27-29.

"We believe that what she was wrapped in was one of the tarps that they put inside the U-Haul. ... We don't know that for sure but that's just what we believe," Fields says.

Neighbors say during that same time they saw Justice moving out of their family home on Ardmore. Justice had lived there until recently - but there was no Fox.

"We saw him down here with a U-Haul for two days. So, we didn't know [anything] like that was happening, though," says neighbor Phillip Blount.

And then on Monday, after receiving another anonymous tip, relatives made the gruesome and heartbreaking discovery. Fox was found shot to death inside a home which happens to be three doors down from a cousin of Justice who told Christene Doughty, Fox's sister, he was there with the U-Haul and acted very strangely.

"Erin [Justice] had pulled up with the U-Haul truck to this abandoned house and he was walking up and down the street asking the neighbors for a hammer. The back door to the house where we found my sister had a board nailed shut to it," says Doughty.

Asher asked Justice's cousin if Justice had been asking for a hammer but the cousin did not want to speak to us.

Perhaps what is even more troubling to this family is why an Amber Alert hasn't been issued for the missing children.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig said in a news conference he was told their disappearance "didn't meet the criteria."

But relatives say if this doesn't meet the criteria, what does?

"If you didn't believe before that these children were missing, now you found their mom, Erin [Justice] is nowhere to be found - they're missing children," says Fields.

Also still missing in Fox's burgundy Chevy Impala with Michigan license plate CCR 1286.

If anyone has any information you are asked to contact Detroit police.
