Neighbor feud caught on security camera

Posted: Updated:
DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. (WJBK) - Sometimes the phrase "love thy neighbor" doesn't work for everybody.

Troy Whitehead says what started as an argument over a cat has turned into a neighborhood feud on Ziegler Street in Dearborn Heights. Whitehead says his neighbors Henry and Leslie Jennfeldt are constantly harassing him.

"[I've had] multiple flat tires; I've had screws thrown in my driveway; I've had BBs shot at my garage and shed and house; I had eggs in the back of my window; always taunting me about my mother having cancer," Whitehead tells FOX 2's Taryn Asher.

He says it got so bad he finally put up security cameras.

He showed some of the footage to Asher. Click on the video player above to see it in her report.

The video appears to show the Jennfeldts shouting at Whitehead, threatening to burn down his home and steal his stuff. Another video also appears to show them lighting firecrackers at Whitehead's house.

The Whiteheads don't even live directly next door. Tamika Lewis and her children do. She claims the Jennfeldts put a noose in their tree months ago and called her son a n-----.

FOX 2 saw the noose hanging in the tree. However, when Asher left and came back 30 minutes later for the interview the noose was gone. She was told Henry's bad knee kept them from taking down what they said was a Halloween decoration.

The Jennfeldts also tell Asher they are the victims in the neighbor feud and call Whitehead a "bully" and a "liar."

The Jennfeldts also deny the harassment and the threats, and say they have video proof that they are the victims. When Asher asked if she could see the video Henry told her, "I'm not getting it right now but sure."

Whitehead says this is much more than a typical case of neighbor versus neighbor and that all he's hoping for is peace. He says he's called police several times but nothing has changed.
