Pasco fire station infested with bed bugs

Posted: Updated:

A Pasco County fire station is battling bed bugs.

According to the county, the infestation is at Fire Station 13 on Dayflower Blvd. in Zephyrhills.

The bugs were reported on May 14.

County officials initially tried to get rid of them with pesticides.

But after that approach, two employees still reported bed bug bites.

So now the county is using an outside vendor that will use heat to kill the bugs. That treatment takes place Tuesday.

In the meantime, the firefighters have been relocated to nearby stations
