Thirty years later, fingerprints on a beer can lead to the arrest of a rape suspect.
Deputies say it was back in 1984 when Lawrence Pierce knocked on the door of an apartment in Pinellas Park. When a 17-year old girl answered the door, he forced his way inside.
She had her 2-month-old baby with her, but deputies say Pierce put the baby in a crib and raped the teenager.
Deputies got fingerprints off a beer can at the scene.
They finally got a match to Pierce after he was arrested in Tennessee for violating probation for a 2001 rape and kidnapping.
Pierce now faces a charge of sexual battery in the Pinellas Park case.
