SARASOTA (FOX 13) -
A gravel spill has closed some of I-75's northbound lanes in Sarasota.
A city spokesperson says the spill is at Clark Road. Officials initially said traffic was being diverted onto Clark until the spill is cleaned, but deputies now say the Florida Highway Patrol is attempting to keep one lane open as another gets cleaned up.
Traffic is slow but not being forced to divert off the interstate. Motorists are still advised to avoid the area or expect delays.
The closure could last at least an hour.
The cause of the spill was not immediately available.
