Family waiting for answers in missing girl's death

TEMPLE TERRACE (FOX 13) - The shock is felt around the community.

"You have some people out here that have no heart or remorse for babies," said Lashwan Starker.

It tugs even harder at the hearts of Felecia Williams' family.

"Even though she's my sister, I felt it like a mother's hurt. Even though she was my sister, she was still my baby," said Shakelia Givens.

Givens didn't want to give up hope that her 9-year-old sister would be found alive, but prepared herself for the worst.

"By that Friday night I felt it. I felt it in my soul deep down," said Givens.

Saturday afternoon a body was found on the Courtney Campbell Causeway. By night, officers confirmed her fears.

"They just discarded my baby like she was trash, like nothing a human like a waste of life," said Givens.

Family friend Eboni Wiley told officers she picked Felecia up from her mother's house and took her to another friend's apartment.

While she showered, Felecia disappeared.

Officers arrested Wiley for giving them false information.

"We already knew she was lying from the stories she told. It wasn't adding up, and making any sense. The whole story just sounded faulty," said Givens.

Now Felecia's family waits for news that will bring them closure.

"Right now all we can do is trust, praise have faith in god that they will be caught and she will get what she deserves and justice will be served," she said.
