The Franklin Bridge in the Loop is closed Tuesday afternoon and will be closed again Thursday for mechanical testing, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation.
The bridge is closed to both vehicles and pedestrians until 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for routine mechanical testing, according to CDOT spokesman Pete Scales.
CDOT is testing the bridge lifting motors that were recently rebuilt, so “it will take some time,” he said.
The bridge will again be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Scales said.
