A trooper killed in a crash Saturday afternoon in Ocala lived in Brooksville and had a vacation planned with her 4-year-old son to Maryland where her brother lives.
Chelsea Richard, 30, was hit by a truck while working another crash around 2 p.m. on Interstate 75.
Two other men, George Phillips, 52, and John Duggan, a tow truck driver, were hit and killed as well.
Phillips died at Ocala Regional Medical Center hours after the crash.
The driver of the truck that struck the group has not been named or charged, but the investigation continues.
Investigators are still piecing together witness statement and recreating the accident to determine what exactly happened.
Richard arrived at the initial crash around 1:40 and observed two cars on the shoulder of the road.
Investigators say she and the two other men were standing near a tow truck when another truck slammed into them.
Richard and Duggan died on the interstate.
Colleagues described her as a beautiful mother and a wonderful trooper.
Sgt. Tracy Hisler-Pace recalled spending time with Richard and her son last weekend.
"She was with her son," Hisler-Pace said while holding back tears. "He was hanging onto his mother's neck squeezing tight, and I've never seen anything more precious."
Hisler-Pace said that will be her everlasting memory of her friend, Trooper Richard.
