Authorities are looking for the owner of a dog that was hit and badly injured.
The Animal Health Center in Land O’Lakes said a yellow lab was hit by a car on U.S. 41 on Friday.
She has a broken leg, broken jaw and several broken teeth, according to her veterinarians.
The dog was not wearing a collar and does not have a microchip.
But a veterinarian at the clinic said she was well-fed and looks to be someone’s missing pet.
“Now out of the woods, to some extent, a long way to go, I'm confident at this point that she will make a full recovery," said Veterinarian Stephanie Sabshin.
Sabshin believes the dog is about 2-years-old.
Anyone who knows who she may belong to or is willing to help pay for care should contact the Animal Health Center of Land O’Lakes.
If her owner is not found, she will be put up for adoption.
