Woman Speaks Out About Former Fiancé In Hopes Of Helping Others

Posted: Updated:
FLORENCE TWP., N.J. -

She thought she met prince charming, however, now he's in county lockup.

His former fiancé says he's a psychopath who conned her out of thousands.

Fox 29's Sabina Kuriakose reports.

36-year-old divorcee Mischele Lewis of Florence Township says William Allen Jordan was the perfect gentleman from the moment they met online and later in person.

“Open doors would wait for me to walk through them. He was very well-mannered, well-spoken, seemingly well-traveled,” she said. “He told me he had a crazy job with the British government working as an escort to foreign dignitaries.”

But when the registered nurse and single mom did a simple Internet search her world turned upside down. She found out her 48-year-old fiancé was using an alias.

She says the man she planned on marrying was actually a convicted con artist in England.

She also found a trail of wives and children who told her he'd deceived them as well.

“I found out he had been a bigamist that he'd defrauded other women,” she said.

Mischele went to Florence Township police.

And for months, she kept up the ruse of a relationship, which helped cops collect the evidence they needed.

Well, it all came to an end last Tuesday in a Cherry Hill CVS parking lot where police arrested Jordan for sexual assault, impersonating an officer and theft by deception.

“I am very relieved. I feel safe now,” said Lewis.

Mischele says she came forward because she believes there are other women out there who may have been conned by the suspect.

In the meantime, the prosecutor's office tells Fox 29 that Jordan has not made bail and remains in jail.

We did try to reach his public defender, but we're told no one has been assigned.
