Tampa gears up for IIFA Awards

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA (FOX 13) - Tampa, are you ready for a show like none other?  The International Indian Film Academy Awards will kick off at Raymond James tonight.  By now, you've seen that everything Bollywood does is big and over the top!  Last night's IIFA Magic of the Movies Awards rocked the MidFlorida Amphitheatre with star studded dance routines choreographed by Shaimak, who is known for his Bollywood routines.  The technical awards show honors people who work behind the scenes of films.  Saif Ali a Khan and Vir Das hosted a hilarious routine together, filled with roars of laughter and cheer that could be heard outside the Amphitheatre. Performances by Bipasha Bansu, Kareena Kapoor and the talented singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan dazzled the audience.

However, that was just a teaser for tonight's big show at Raymond James, where a 140 by 80 ft. stage filled with LED lights awaits an anxious audience.  The crowds of people coming to see the stars at each event have been huge and tonight will be even bigger.  The event seats 30,000 people and isn't quite sold out just yet.  Expect performances by Priyanka Chopra Madhuri Dixit, Deepika Padhuoke, Hrithik Roshan and many more.  Nominees include Anupam Kher, Vivek Oberoi, Nimrit Kaur, Sauraz Shukla and Deepika Padhukone.
