TAMPA (FOX 13) -

He's back! Slumdog Millionaire star Anil Kapoor returned to Tampa, excited about the fans and the big IIFA award show Saturday night.

"I'm always pumped, especially when it comes to Tampa, because I had come here earlier and launched and met all the people who are governing Tampa and I knew that this is gonna be the best IIFA ever," Kapoor promised.

To ensure a great show, crews have been working around the clock at Raymond James. They're setting up a huge 140 x 80 ft. stage filled with state of the art LED lights. It's one more way to bring the fans closer to the stars.

However, the best place to meet them face-to-face so far has been at the Tampa International Airport's green carpet. That's where Bollywood icon Saif Ali Khan made his grand entrance into Tampa.

His wife Kareena Kapoor, who is an actress herself with rich Bollywood roots, was not with him. He said she will be coming later in the week. Meanwhile, Khan said he's excited to host the IIFA Magic of the Movies event on Friday.

The technical awards show will also feature an award to Hollywood star John Travolta.

Khan said, "We do have fans all over the world so it's nice to see them, but also, when we go to some foreign country, it does a little cultural give and take which I think is important."

As Indian and American cultures come together at IIFA, it is a reminder of our unique heritage and stark similarities. After all, both cultures share a love for their superstar celebrities and an obsession with selfies!

If you want want to take part in the all the Bollywood madness, come out to IIFA Stomp at Curtis Hixon Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The event is free and open to the public. Tampa native DJ Ravi Drums will be kicking it live on stage with some of the hottest DJs from Mumbai.
