Police Looking For Pickup In Hit-And-Run Accident

Posted: Updated:
RIDLEY PARK, Pa. - Police in Delaware County say they are looking for a hit-and-run driver, and they've released surveillance video from just before the accident.

This happened around 11 p.m. Monday near Chester Pike and West Sellers Avenue in Ridley Park.

The victim, 18-year-old Christopher Brooks, is reported to be in critical condition and in surgery Tuesday morning at Crozier-Chester Medical Center. Authorities say he suffered a fractured leg and a head injury.

Police say Brooks was riding his bike home from a friend's house when he was struck. They believe he was in the middle of West Chester Pike trying to cross the street when he was struck.

This morning, police say they're looking for an older model (1997-2003) gray or silver Ford F-150 pickup truck with front-end damage to a front passenger side bug deflector, part of which was recovered at the scene.

The surveillance video police released is from a home on West Chester Pike, and it shows the southbound truck speeding past a car on West Chester Pike shortly before the accident. The truck then turned left onto West Sellers Avenue and drove away.

If you have any information or see a vehicle matching the description above, you're urged to call police.

FOX 29's Drew Dickman is reporting live this morning from Ridley Park with more details.
