Yankees Beat Rays 5-1 in 12 Innings

Posted: Updated:
TAMPA (FOX 13) - The Rays offense cooled off Sunday afternoon in the series finale against the Yankees.  Friday and Saturday the Rays scored 27 runs.  No team had done that to the Yankees in consecutive games since 1988.  The Rays only managed 1 run, game 4 Easter Sunday.  But this stood up into extra innings, until the 12th inning.  New York's Dean Anna drew a bases-loaded walk on a full-count pitch with two outs, scoring the go-ahead run.  Then, Carlos Beltran followed with a two-run single during a four-run 12th inning for New York.  The Yankees beat the Rays 5-1 Sunday.  The Rays take Monday off before hosting the Twins starting Tuesday.
