PALMETTO (FOX 13) -

Investigators arrested a third suspect in connection to major raid at a no-kill animal sanctuary in Manatee County.

Detectives arrested 76-year-old Dr. Edward Dunham at his Palmetto home.

He's charged with one count of aggravated animal cruelty.

Last year, sheriff's got a tip that animals at Napier's Log Cabin Horse and Animal Sanctuary weren't properly being cared for.

Detectives found very little food and water at the property.

More than 300 dogs, cats, horses, pigs, and other animals were confiscated from the property.

They also found 20 dead cats and dogs buried behind the shelter and 12 other dogs had to be put down.

The owners, Alan and Sheree Napier were arrested earlier this week.

They were charged with 15 counts of animal cruelty.
