TAMPA (FOX 13) -

A fire ripped through the Animal Coalition of Tampa Bay killing three cats that lived there.

Fire investigators arrived at the facility around 5 a.m. Saturday. Once inside, firefighters found the cats, and the owners said they likely died from smoke inhalation.

A dog was found alive and apparently escaped the fire.

Investigators believe someone intentionally set the fire based on evidence inside and interviews with the owners.

"The fire seemed to be started in three places," Frank Hamilton, Animal Coalition owner, said.

"One was our doctors office which was totally wrecked, one was the operation managers office, and one was the front desk cashier."

Hamilton said fire investigators are looking into someone they think is responsible.
