By now, you may know her by her real name, Jennifer Fichter. She is the teacher accused of an ongoing sexual relationship with one her own students, a 17-year-old at the Central Florida Aerospace Academy in Lakeland.
But on the internet and in texts sent to the 17-year-old, detectives say Fichter would use other names. One of the aliases was "Jessica Seaman," -- which is actually one of Fichter's other students.
Out of all the names in the world, you have to wonder why she chose Seaman's.
"I am not exactly sure why," Jessica said.
Seaman was in Fichter's English class and considers her a very good teacher. However, she taken aback when she found out that she was unknowingly pulled into the situation.
"It kinda makes me a little uncomfortable, and I'm kinda sketchy about it," she said.
Seaman says she is not mad at Fichter, but decided to speak out publicly on Thursday to make that everyone knows she has nothing to do with the issue.
It seems like Seaman's classmates are not overthinking it either. Some even found a little humor in it.
"They started joking around with me and they were like, 'You could get extra credit for that one.' "I was like, 'oh, yeah, I guess.' "
