A town hall meeting was held Monday night after the Manatee County Girls and Boys Club CEO sent out an email with what some said were mixed messages.
The email Marc Dosogne sent to a group of employees set out priorities for future hires.
In it he wrote he wanted them to stay out of trouble, not have children as teenagers and stay clear of drugs and alcohol.
Dosogne also said he didn't want employees with tattoos, piercings or women who dressed provocatively.
Afterwards, Dosogne said he was out of line, and his intention was only to present proper role models for the kids.
However, the NAACP, who hosted Monday night's meeting, wants him to resign.
"Some of the email was really harsh in language. When you look at the amount of time he took with some of the things he said, you really want to understand his thought process," said Gregory Alexandria, JR., a member of the NAACP. "That's why we wanted to bring our community out to discuss what they thought. How are we going to go forward and are we going to accept it?"
Dosogne has been put on a two-week administrative leave while board members decided what action to take against him.
