BROOKSVILLE (FOX 13) -

The Brooksville Police Department arrested a man for theft at the Beall's Outlet Store on Broad Street.

Police said an employee chased the suspect, 34-year-old David Orama, and watched him enter the Save-A-Lot grocery store on Cortez Blvd.

Officers went into the store and found Orama. He was wearing a black winter jacket he had taken from the storage area in the back of the store.

Orama resisted arrest and attempted to eat pills later identified as methadone.

Officers also found meth on Orama.

Several pairs of shoes he tried to take from the Beall's were found outside the Save-A-Lot store.

He was taken to the Hernando County Jail and held on $11,500 bond.
