Amber Alert canceled; girl found in Manatee County

SARASOTA (FOX 13) -

Sarasota police say a missing 5-month-old child has been found safe in Manatee County.

On Thursday morning, an Amber Alert was issued for Brianna Martinez-Lujano. She was last seen Wednesday night at the Cadillac Motel at 4021 North Tamiami Trail, or U.S. 41, in north Sarasota.

Detectives believed she was with Aldequndo Benitez-Cavillo – a 31-year-old Hispanic male.

Around 9:15 a.m., FOX 13 confirmed with the Sarasota Police Department that the girl has been found. Shortly afterward, an alert was sent out canceling the Amber Alert.

What remains unclear is if Benitez-Cavillo was with her at the time. FOX 13's Hetal Gandhi is heading to the location of the hotel, where authorities will brief reporters.

Though the Amber Alert flier labeled Benitez-Cavillo as "abductor," detectives later said that they did not believe the little girl was "abducted."

This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 13.
