CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - Religious leaders in the Clinton Township community held a support rally Wednesday for the family of the party store owner murdered nearly two weeks ago.

Supporters and customers gathered in the afternoon at the Moon Lite Party Store, calling for justice for Basil Sulaka and remembering the ways he had touched all of their lives.

Investigators say three men came into the store on Harper Avenue north of 14 Mile Road an hour before closing time. The suspects ransacked the store, stole merchandise and fatally shot Sulaka.

The 51-year-old was a husband, father of two children and a cancer survivor. Those who knew him say he would have given anyone the shirt off his back.

Many in the community have placed signs reading 'Justice for Basil' on their lawns.

Meanwhile, across the street from the party store at The Detroit Pub, dozens of donated items are up for auction to raise money for the Sulaka family. Local X Factor finalist Jeff Gutt of the most recent season is expected to attend the auction. He is from the area.

Police are still looking for those three suspects. Several agencies are offering reward money, including the owner of the Detroit Pub, Paul Mauk, the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce and Crime Stoppers of Michigan.

If you have information call the Charter Township of Clinton Police Department at (586) 493-7800 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
