Two dogs were killed and one person was injured in an early morning fire in Hillsborough County.
It happened just after midnight on 25th Avenue, Fire Rescue officials said.
A neighbor who is also a relative spotted the flames and ran to alert six people who were inside the two-story home. Those actions, officials say, perhaps saved their lives.
One man suffered minor injuries escaping from a window, FOX 13's Shayla Reaves reports. He was taken to a hospital but will be OK.
Two dogs, however, did not make it out. The damage to the home was significant enough that firefighters say the home will be demolished.
There are reports that the home didn't have smoke alarms, officials said. The Red Cross is helping the family find shelter.
Firefighters were removing any mementos they could salvage around 9 a.m.
