A soldier accused of beating a friend to death with a hammer said he does not remember the attack and blamed warlocks, wizards, magic and the CIA.
Pasco investigators arrested Antonio Bandomo Monday for beating two people, one died.
Dustin LaRose was taken off life support Saturday.
Bandomo's mother Frances said her son needs to be in a mental facility.
After the attack, Bandomo ran to his mother's house and gave her a bizarre reason for striking his friends.
"He said that they're soul snatchers, witchcraft, voodoo and that their poisoning him and the CIA. He was just talking stuff that did not make sense," Frances Bandomo said.
LaRose's cousin Jonathan said he was choked out by Bandomo.
Jonathan called 911 after he found his cousin unresponsive.
"There was a lot of blood and I pushed him and nudged him and kept saying that he couldn't leave me," LaRose said.
Saturday evening, Bandomo and LaRose visited Antonio in jail.
"He was crying so hard. He was crying and said 'mom I would never hurt them'," Bandomo explained.
Frances said her son served nearly six-years in the Army National Guard and was diagnosed with PTSD in 2007.
"He needs to be in an institution. He needs medical, mental help. He needs to be on meds. He's not right now," Bandomo said.
