State police investigate overnight shooting on I-96

DETROIT, Mich. (WJBK) - Michigan State Police are investigating an overnight shooting on I-96 near Greenfield in Detroit that sent three to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to police, the trio left the Blue Stone Club in Detroit heading westbound in the local lanes of I-96 around 4:00 am Sunday morning. As they were driving, a pickup truck pulled up alongside the car firing shots.

The victims lost control stopping on the shoulder of the freeway. The shooter took off.

One person was hit by gunfire but should be okay. The other two have minor cuts from flying glass.
