Investigators: Sulphur Springs fire was arson; reward offered

TAMPA (FOX 13) -

The fire marshal's office has determined that last week's fire on Semmes Street was set on purpose, and but investigators still haven't made a connection to a shooting in the same location.

A duplex was badly damaged at 8109 North Semmes. There were no injuries.

Investigators believe someone illegally entered the residence, poured ignitable liquid in a bedroom, and sparked the blaze.

It happened just one day after a man was found shot to death a few houses away. Police have charged Johnson Louis in the death of Keith Jones, and Louis has not been arrested.

Investigators are not saying whether the two events are connected. There was about $45,000 in damage.

There is a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest.
