SARASOTA (FOX 13) -

The Indiana University football player who nearly drowned in a rip current last Monday is out of the hospital.

Issac Griffith was released from Sarasota Memorial Hospital on Sunday.

His friends pulled him from the water after he was dragged under.

They were at Siesta Key celebrating spring break.

He spent nearly a week in the hospital, and at one point was placed in a medically induced coma to let his lungs heal.

His parents tweeted out some pictures of a very healthy looking Isaac before their journey home.

They thanked the hospital staff for everything they've done.

Isaac also wanted to say thanks. He tweeted this: "Nothing more to say except I'm blessed, Indiana I'm on my way home today. I can't thank everyone for their support in these past few days for me and my family.. I can't say enough how grateful I am."
