Authorities say a 28-year-old man led deputies on a pursuit early Monday morning, ending in a SWAT situation.
The suspect's name is Matthew Ryan Trevino, and he's in custody now – but not before a series of tense moments.
Deputies say it started when Trevino slammed his Dodge Ram pickup into the back of a vehicle on northbound I-75. Trevino took off, and the driver called 911.
Deputies say they caught up Trevino and followed him into Pasco County, where he made his way to the exit of State Road 54. Trevino apparently turned around, went southbound, and then hit stop sticks, crashing just north of 56.
The SWAT team took Trevino into custody. He was taken to the hospital with some minor injuries. He'll later be booked into the Pasco County jail.
