Posted: Updated:

A man caught on camera creeping through a home in St. Petersburg is behind bars.

Police say John Dukes got into the house on 39th Street South through an unlocked sliding glass door.

When he looked into a bedroom, he was confronted by the homeowner who had a gun.

Dukes ran off.

U.S. Marshals tracked him down in Sanford where they say he was hiding out.

St. Petersburg Police detectives say Dukes also got into a home on 22nd Avenue North two weeks ago and threatened a couple with a broom stick.

Dukes allegedly stole two flat screen TV's, a pellet gun and took off in the victim's truck.
