Tigers SS Jose Iglesias out 4-6 months

DETROIT (WJBK) -- The Detroit Tigers are expected to be without shortstop Jose Iglesias for the next 4 to 6 months.

The team says earlier tests that revealed bilateral tibial stress fractures were confirmed this week by a Colorado doctor.

Iglesias is expected to continue his recovery and will be limited to non-weight bearing conditioning such as biking, swimming and upper body strengthening.

The team says he will be reevaluated in four months.

The Tigers are set to open their season at home against Kansas City on March 31.
